Despite all sorts of colonic scrapes stemming from student misconduct ranging from cafeteria chaos to a mass senior ditch day, the principal arranged for a lunch truck to park at school for teachers only. The truck serves a few varieties of sandwiches plus a build-a-burger with beef, turkey, chipotle sauces, etc. I'm not sure if this thing starts tomorrow. And I'm not sure if you HAVE to text your order to the truck or if you can pick up precooked meals without ordering.
The principal's gone strict with enforcing some rules...dress code, etc. I'm pretty lax on enforcement. I was anal my first couple of years but I backed off from a cross of lack of admin support and the fact that short of buying a signal jammer, those kids will not put their mobile phones away. At one point, I wanted to invest in a load of art-- Georgia O'Keefe, Van Gough, even those dogs playing poker in a parlor-- and line them with aluminum foil in a desperate attempt to block out phone signals. I don't have the energy or time to be policing kids for phones or other small time offenses. I'm not stressed anymore and I haven't had any confrontations all year. They did throw in one bastard. His deal is that he's very obnoxious. He'll pop off gross comments in class...

I hope that he does something that lands his ass back in alt. school. I ignore his verbal diarrhea the way I ignore noisy idiots at the shooting range. I pretend it's an exercise in concentration like having to fire a round in a high stimulated situation. But this kid still annoys me even if I haven't snapped at him. He's also SpEd so unless he does something over the top, it's all part of the package deal.
I had a photo finish to work today. Why? Amazon mobile's Kindle page wasn't working. I'd find a book, but it only had options to buy a tangible copy, not an e-version. I spend a few minutes tweaking my iPod till the regular Kindle options came up. Even now, it'll still not show the download preview or buy on Kindle options. I just got paid and I already want to blow my income on books, paperbacks and e-books alike.
