Texting while crowning

A student walks into my 3rd period & tells me one of my students in that class has gone into labor (NOT AT SCHOOL). I ask the student how she knew. The pregnant girl texted her. Then I replied " She's texting while she's in labor?!" 

I watch too much TV. I just assumed that the pregnant girl was at the part where she's screaming and cussing while holding a mobile phone and shakily texting that the baby's on the way.
