Franklin Mountains pt II
May. 21st, 2012 11:23 pmOn Sat. I went back to hike the Summit with 'Manda. It went well, except for a blister on my right big toe which I thought was a thorn stabbing me. I also got a mite dehydrated on the way down. 2 liters and 20 oz. isn't enough water. At this rate, I'm better off lugging a gallon milk jug of water on these hikes. But I felt pukey at the campground and disappeared into the bushes to try to retch until Amanda gave me Alka Seltzer which cured my ailment. I even got my appetite back and ate the shrimp skewers that I was previously contemplating tossing out since the fishy smell was making me sick. I wanted to go home, but the idea of lugging all the heavy stuff BACK to the car made me sick. I struggled a lot with the coolers before I took the Alka-Seltzer.
But the mountains had a lot of plants in bloom after some rain.
