May the odds be ever in your favor
Mar. 24th, 2012 01:12 pmLike the rest of the world, I went out to see The Hunger Games with Araina and Eric last night. I hadn't finished the book she had loaned me, and I had no interest in the series until Araina and Amanda spoke highly of it, and the movie lived up to the hype. It's got action, plus it's not mind-numbing kiddie entertainment. I was actually thinking a lot through the movie-- Art of War-type stuff. I bought an e-copy for my Kindle app so I can have a more "portable" copy with me.

The Cinemark employee selling Hunger Games tees and cups threw in the pin as a freebie. Araina thinks he might have been stoned. We were supposed to buy a cup and t-shirt to get the pin.
After the movie we went to Outback where Eric and I mildly pissed off some guy. Some lady called her boy "Chuy" (say Chewy) and Eric said that it must be cool being named after a Wookie and he made the Chewbacca roar. I told him that the name had nothing to to with the Star Wars character. The dad turned around and said, "That's my son you're making fun of. And his name's Jesus."
