The Audacity of Soap. (And "Tintin")
Jan. 17th, 2012 06:53 pmI just want to chew my legs off. I don't know how but I've got an annoying rash on both of them. The skin's puffy with tiny chicken skin bumps and flecks of scabs and dried blood from scratching. Wearing pants helps, otherwise I'd be clawing my legs at work. Benadryl pills didn't work. I'm heading to the drugstore to get some anti itch lotion if this keeps up. I suspect that a new razor/shaving cream combo might be the culprit. Or maybe the diverse grab bag of soaps that I've been using. Dove one day, Lush dead sea the next, Bath & Body Pink Sugarplum after that,...I put a lot of stock in the audacity of soap.
I smeared some old rosacea cream on my legs and it's helped with the itching. The hard part's not shaving. I'm an OCD razor grazer and the thought of cactus stubble makes me cringe.
I saw Tintin last night. I've never watched the cartoon or picked up the comics till today, but I enjoyed the movie. I got a couple of books at school and found some videos of the 90s HBO/Nickelodeon run. For some reason, I'd confuse Rupert with Tintin. I don't know why or how even though one's about a white bear and the other is about a guy with a Pee Wee Herman cowlick. Maybe it was the adventure theme. Or were both characters of European origin?
The other plus about the movie was that it wasn't sanitized for extreme political correctness because it's a kids' movie. Tintin carries a pistol (and proves to be quite the marksman) as opposed to making his weapon a less offensive slingshot.
