Puppy gets a fat lip
Jan. 15th, 2012 01:34 amI took the dogs for their parvo and distemper vaccinations and dropped them off at home (after an excursion to Petsmart for toys and treats for good behavior). When I get back a few hours later, I see Rufus with a swollen face. A springer spaniel metamorphosed into a Saint Bernard. His jowls were fat and bloaty to the touch. I called the vet on call after hours and he said that this swelling was normal and to give Rufus Benadryl. He's ingested two doses over eight hours and the swelling's starting to go down though his upper lips are still puffy. I don't think Rufus is in any discomfort. He's probably happy because he gets to run loose in the house and get away with more because everyone feels bad for him. I only shut him in his kennel when I went to buy the Benadryl and replace the iPod cable in my car with a red one I bought with the meds at Walgreens.
Aside from that, I got a lot done. I picked up touch-up paint for the car, got more of those goat's milk soaps, and Kick-Ass #6. The end of the book said "To be concluded..." though I don't remember if the end will stretch into issues 7 and 8 or if there were 7 issues for this run only.
Amanda wants to do a light hiking trip on Monday. I'm not entirely sure if that's a good idea also considering the principal wants all 200 asses of the faculty in the theater at 7:15 A.M. Tuesday morning.
