Daddy Dearest
Jan. 30th, 2012 10:42 pmA student with problems at home dragged them to school.
He called home on the class room phone to speak to his mother but hung up when his stepfather answered. So stepdad called me telling me that this kid hasn't been home in days and if I could send him to the principal's office. My co-teacher filled me in: the stepdad and kid don't get along and the former beats his stepson. The boy's living with a friend now and didn't know his mother was in the hospital. But what creeped me out was just how the stepfather kept asking that his stepson be placed in the principal's office. I pressed back wanting to know if the man wanted to show up for a conference or to get his son. He said no, but could I just send the kid to the office?
That's scary right there. This isn't a detention center; I can't send kids to the principal's unless they get severely unruly. I'm guessing that the man wanted his son isolated for an easy pick up. My co-teacher sent him to the school's social worker instead. She knows what's been going on and we weren't sure if his bastard father was going to show up and try to take his kid. That's what I was afraid of. Having that fucker storm into the school and raise hell for his son. In fact, I still have this nagging fear that that asshole is going to call back and bother me about not giving into his demands or worse, show up at my room and give me hell. The only reason I'm not in tears or puking up that chuck roast is because the social worker and my supervisor know about the abuse and both have contacted CPS regarding that fucker. This man has supposedly (I say that since I personally haven't seen hard evidence of abuse) beat a sixteen year old boy. It would not surprise me if the man arrived at school and got ugly with me.
